Let Students Lead!

Looking for an innovative and interactive after school program that builds life, academic and personal skills while keeping your student engaged? Entrepreneurship is a proven way to ignite a teen’s creativity, curiosity and innovative spirit.  Teens will get to explore their passions and academic strengths as they start to ideate and create their own business. They’ll learn how to take a product or service from idea to being the next big thing. While this program is intended to encourage teens to work in teams, many decide to work solo on their business idea.

Along the way, teens will get to explore their industry interests and learn from entrepreneurs’ case studies. Intended to demonstrate how entrepreneurs in multiple industries turned an idea into a successful business, and unfortunately, why some failed.

At the conclusion of the program, teens will have ideated a product or service, written a business plan and will present their pitch at the conclusion of the program in a showcase event to relatives, friends, and special guests. All teens are invited to present their pitch at Project ECHO’s High School Entrepreneurs’ Business Plan Competition!

Give your teen something they can call their own, get excited about, and in the end feel very accomplished for completing this unique program.

ABOUT Launching ECHO
This rapid-paced program infuses entrepreneurial concepts and solution-based design thinking into the ECHO Think Tank. Teens will proceed through a formal curriculum where they’ll ideate and create a business, draft a business plan, and a formal presentation complete with slide deck. This program is most suitable for students in 8th grade through graduating seniors. Students in 6th and 7th grade are invited to participate and the curriculum and expectations will be modified to encourage a successful experience.

Think Tank
Designed specifically for young entrepreneurs, Think Tank participants will learn how to ideate and create a business, and will immerse themselves in researching and developing a full business plan and pitch deck. Throughout the program, teens will learn from professionals in multiple industries on how to create a business that will solve real problems. Teens will work in teams or individually to develop a business plan, complete with marketing plans, consumer data, competitive analysis and financials.  At the end of the program, teens will focus on creating a pitch deck complete with a PowerPoint presentation and will present their pitch on the last day of the program to a panel of business executives, and interested parents and family members.

Special Guest Interviews

Special guest entrepreneurs and executives will be invited into the Think Tank to lead sessions, share their entrepreneurial journey along with information about their industry. These dynamic interviews are intended to introduce students to multiple career paths within a variety of industries.

On average, there will be three to five special guest interviews.

Additional Information

Throughout this program, teens will use design-thinking methods and consider the WHY? Why does this industry or product thrive? Why do people interact or engage with brands? Through the lens of empathy and in partnership with their peers, participants will be challenged to consider creating answers rather than accepting current solutions.

Each day will integrate specific learning objectives accomplished in Project ECHO’s entrepreneurship and design thinking curriculum. Presenting a capstone project is an important element of the program, and each student will get to present their project on the last day of the program.
